A family history... |
|
| Henri & Margueritte Buisson |
|
The delightful village of Saint-Romain is steeped in the viticulture history of the Côte d'Or. The Dukes of Burgundy purchased vineyards there in AD 1300. The Buisson family has lived and tended vines there since the 12th century.
The family began purchasing the vineyard in the late 1920s. Henri and Margueritte Buisson acquired full ownership of the domain in 1950s.
Their son Gilles Buisson and his wife, Monica, took over the domain from Henri and Marguerite, adding prestigious vineyards to the estate :
Corton, Pommard, Savigny les Beaune, Volnay, Beaune. The domain today covers 21 hectares of vineyards, from 14Hectares of fully-owned vines.

Vine growing :

Wine making :
Vinification is carried out on the property according to traditional methods. We use native wild yeast and do long fermentation maceration period (15 days). Matured in French oak barrels during One year, the wines are closely followed as they mature by an oenological laboratory until they are ready to be sold. |
